A holiday in Merano with us is as easy-going as it is exciting. Thanks to the Guest Card for free public transport, bus connections and the town center within walking distance, you can even leave your car parked. Now that’s what we call great holiday prospects!

In love with Merano

Even Empress Sissi from Austria and Franz Kafka fell in love with Merano on holiday – and for good reason. The mild climate, the gentle sound of the Passer River on the promenades and the town’s location at the foot of the mountains are simply enchanting. Today, Merano delights with its Laubengasse arcades for relaxed shopping, the modern thermal baths and top-notch events, from long summer evenings and the Grape Festival to the music weeks and the WineFestival. And the best part: you’re just 10-15 minutes on foot from the center!

Hit the paths

If you love walking and hiking, staying at Villa Senta is a jackpot. From the house, you can stroll through the villa district, explore the famous Tappeiner Promenade, or take a short drive up into the mountains. The Dorf Tirol cable car is just a 15-minute drive away and brings you closer to the picturesque Spronser Lakes and Mutspitze. Nearby Waalweg paths and hiking areas in the surrounding valleys are also easily accessible. Feel free to ask your host for tips!

Prefer to ride?

Then hop on and go! Right outside Villa Senta, new city and mountain bikes are ready for your two-wheeled adventures – free of charge! Cycling routes in the town and valley, as well as trails in the nearby mountains, will get your heart racing. Expect lots of nature, cozy resting spots and plenty of variety. For minor repairs, you can use our workshop free of charge.

Need for speed

If you feel at home on a motorcycle, Merano is literally your playground. Routes lead from village to village and town to town, over winding mountain passes and close to the peaks. Motor enthusiasts won’t get bored on holiday here! And, if you need a quick repair, our small workshop at Villa Senta is available free of charge.

Explore the area

A must during your holiday in Merano is a visit to the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle, easily reachable on foot from us. But the surrounding area also has plenty to offer. Walk in the footsteps of local hero Andreas Hofer in the Passeier Valley, visit Ötzi the Iceman in Bolzano, or explore churches and castles around Lana. Cultural hotspots, sights and picturesque villages and towns are never far away. Your host will gladly advise you personally.

What would a holiday in Merano be without delicious food? Even though Villa Senta doesn’t offer catering, you’re in the perfect location to discover South Tyrol’s culinary delights. Within walking distance and nearby, you’ll find everything from Italian pizza and pasta to South Tyrolean specialties and international cuisine. Pastry shops, cafés, and gelaterias will satisfy your sweet tooth and ensure you’re well-fed from breakfast to dessert on a summer evening.

Christmas magic

Sometimes, it’s not about size. The Christmas market on the Cure Promenade in Merano is small and charming, yet incredibly magical. Every year, the stalls offer festive treats, local crafts and original gift ideas. It’s also worth visiting nearby Christmas markets in Lagundo, Lana, Scena, Tirol Castle, as well as in Bolzano, the surrounding valleys and the enchanting Dolomites.
